Blackbird Blend

Blackbird Blend is a nice pungent dark roast for those who like their coffee bold and strong.  Blackbird is made from fresh, high grown, hard bean coffee from three or four origin countries, depending on availability. As coffee is roasted darker, the sugars burn and the body begins to diminish, which can result in a cup that is bitter and thin if roasted too long, so the trick is to roast to a level that is fairly dark but not too far into the stage of destroying the robust character and depth of flavor. The beans we choose for this coffee hold up to this kind of roast very well. 100% of the coffees in this blend come from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms.

Cup characteristics: Robust, pungent, smoky, a little bit nutty, with a hint of sweetness still present. Delicious as a black coffee or with milk and sugar.
